According to this, there is a need for about 1,300 radiotherapy machines in the country but there are only about 700 machines, which creates a lot of problems. Apart from this, radiotherapy is available in only about 250 hospitals, including government and private hospitals, out of which 200 are only private hospitals, where treatment is very expensive.

If we take an average, then based on the reports, the treatment of cancer ranges from Rs 2,80,000 to Rs 10,50,000. The cost of chemotherapy in India is around Rs 18,000 per time, depending on the severity of the cancer.
